- The first named team is responsible for organising each match (i.e. both its venue and date) and must offer at least two reasonable (i.e. not weekday mornings or afternoons) times for the match to be played. Please give ample notice so as to avoid claims/counter claims. The away team should reply as soon as possible with the date they prefer from the ones given and the home team should pay for all frames including a warm-up for the visitors. It is advisable to exchange phone numbers in the event of confusion or disaster on the day of the match. Also please copy oupc@hotmail.co.uk into the emails when arranging matches.
- The results of all matches and any claims (with reason) must reach oupc@hotmail.co.uk by noon on Tuesday of the following week. These deadlines will be strictly upheld such that if OUPC has not heard anything about a match by the deadline, it may be awarded to the away team.
- A match scorecard should be filled out for every match, downloadable from the panel on the left. This should include the name of each player, and each frame score, and be signed by both team captains. It must be posted to the Secretary, Ian Ashpole, at St John's College, no more than a week after the game has been played.
- Each team shall be made up of six players who should each play one frame of singles and one frame of doubles in accordance with Blackball rules (see here: http://www.wpa-pool.com/download/WPABlackballfinalrules.pdf or here: http://www.blackball.co.uk/wpabbrules.pdf) A lag is performed at the start between an appointed player from each team. The captain of the lag-winning team chooses whether his team will break first or second. The teams break alternately thereafter. A referee should be appointed for each frame. The order in which frames are played should be agreed by both captains.
- No player may play for more than one team in any one week. If a team does not have a match in any particular week, no more than two players from that team may represent another team that week. A breach of this rule could lead to severe penalties such as the match being awarded to the opposing team. Any other representation anomalies, e.g. a first team playing as a second team, will be treated equally severely.
- One point will be awarded for each frame won and another two to the match winners (i.e. a total of 11 points are available for each match.) A claimed match is treated as a 6-0 victory (i.e. 8 points to nil.)
- Promotion and Relegation
Division 1: If the top two teams finish level on points the league title will be decided by the result between the two teams, unless this match was claimed in which case the title will be decided by a play-off match. The bottom three teams will be automatically relegated.
Division 2: The winners of sections 2A and 2B will both be automatically promoted. The teams in second and third places in each section will go into a play-off competition for the 3rd promotion place. The bottom two teams from each section will be automatically relegated.
Division 3: The winners of each section will be automatically promoted. The teams finishing in second and third places will go into a play-off competition for the two remaining promotion places. The bottom two teams from each section will be automatically relegated.
Division 4: The winners of each section will be automatically promoted. The teams finishing in second and third places will go into a play-off competition for the two remaining promotion places.

If there are any disputes which the two captains cannot solve, a member of the committee should be contacted immediately to resolve the issue. If this is a scheduling issue, email contact should suffice, but if something arises during a match it is important that contact is made there and then, via phone, to have the situation resolved. The committee member will discuss the issue with both Captains and consult the rest of the committee, before coming to a decision which will be final. Players shouldn't wait until the match has passed to raise any issues.
For further information contact the President/Secretary at oupc@hotmail.co.uk.
